At the risk of sharing a little TMI, I'm going to tell you my personal story of how drinking a little shake each day has had an impact on me. Sure, you've heard me talk about how it gives me more energy and helps me control junk food/sugar cravings. You've probably even heard me tell you about how it's been known to help with some major health issues like thyroid problems, digestive issues, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, joint health and so much more. Every BODY is different and we're all deficient in different things. For me, personally, I have struggled with eczema for almost my whole life. Not normal eczema like people get on their elbows (yes I get that too sometimes) but eczema on my eyelids and inside my ears. I know...weird right? and kinda gross. Not something I readily share with very many people.
Anyway, years ago, I learned to control the dryness in the eye area if I consistently used eye cream. Not every cream works so I've had to try a bunch and sometimes they stop working so I have to change it up but it's manageable. My ears, on the other hand...if you can imagine, it's kinda tough to get any kind of lotion or cream inside your ear canal. So, I lived with it. Dry, scaly, flaky skin that would sometimes get infected. Ouch! If you've even had an ear infection as an adult you know how painful that is. And sometimes that skin would mix with ear wax and get impacted, affecting my hearing and require a trip to the doctor to get it cleaned out. Seemed like it was progressively getting worse the older I got and a couple of years ago I finally broke down and went to an Ear Nose and Throat Doctor for help. He helped me get it under control with ear drops and steroid lotion. If I used the lotion every day, went to the doctor every few months to get things cleaned out, things were pretty good.
Well, I don't like medicine, especially steroids for long periods of use but my doctor assured me that the little amount I was using was "probably ok" for long term use. I went to the doctor in February and everything was pretty status quo. He cleans the crud out of my ears and while it was improving, it still had a ways to go. We scheduled another appointment for 6 months out. I started drinking Shakeology soon after, in February.
Fast forward to this morning, my latest doctor appt. I already knew things were better. My ears weren't as itchy or cloggy (I think I just made up that word!) anymore. So much so that I had postponed this appointment about a month and hadn't really minded. Today, he asked me what I'd been doing differently because, while not perfect, it was much improved and there was a lot less cleaning out to do. YAY!! So, although I'm not completely healed, the daily steroid lotion usage has dropped to about once a week to be manageable. Big improvement! I will go back to the doctor in 6 months and see where we are, also big improvement. This is after 6 months of Shakeology. I wonder what things will look like after a year?
I know this is a small thing but it's big to me and I owe it to Shakeology. I can't promise this shake will cure everything that ails you but I can say that so many of our health issues are due to improper nutrition and nutrient deficiencies. If we fuel our bodies with the right things, who knows what will happen? I know I'll keep drinking this and my family drinks it. It's worth it to us!
If you're drinking Shakeology, how has it helped you? I'd love to hear! If you're not drinking Shakeology, what's stopping you?
If you're skeptical (I certainly was!) or unsure what flavor you'd like, I'm running a 7 day taste test and education group in October and it's a great way to try it out for yourself. No, you can't determine what long term effects it might have on your health in 7 days but you CAN see what it's like, how it tastes and maybe start to experience some of those benefits like more energy and less sugar cravings. Message me if you want in on this taste test group!
